The Necessity of Reviving the Honda Element
Honda’s current vehicle lineup boasts excellence, with models like the Accord and Civic shining. However, there’s a noticeable gap in the SUV segment, and enthusiasts are clamoring for the return of a beloved crossover — the Honda Element. In this article, we’ll explore why the Element deserves a comeback and how it could fill the void in Honda’s SUV lineup.
We want a new Honda Element
The Legacy of the Honda Element
The Honda Element, introduced two decades ago, had a production run of eight years, selling approximately 325,000 units. While these numbers may seem modest compared to Honda’s other offerings, the Element’s uniqueness and practicality set it apart. Powered by the acclaimed Honda K-series four-cylinder engine, it offered versatility with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive options.
Interior Configurability and Space
One of the Element’s standout features was its interior. Contrary to popular belief, hosing out the Element was not recommended, but its rugged interior with configurable seats and surprisingly ample space made it a practical choice. The boxy design maximized interior room, a feature appreciated by those seeking a spacious yet compact vehicle.
Why Bring Back the Element?
In the current landscape, Honda’s SUV lineup, including the CR-V, HR-V, Pilot, and Passport, lacks a model that seamlessly bridges the gap between cars and SUVs. The Element, with its unique design and practical features, could be the missing link, catering to consumers seeking a compact crossover with distinct characteristics. No modern Honda has the seat configurations the Element had, Why not?
Voices from Enthusiasts
Enthusiasts worldwide are rallying for the return of the Element. Online discussions on platforms like our Facebook Group or on [Reddit] and automotive forums reflect the collective desire for Honda to revive this iconic model. The elementownersclub.com community even speculated about a 2021 return, showing the enduring anticipation for a new iteration.
Potential Revival in 2024?
Rumors have surfaced about a potential revival, with speculations indicating a 2024 launch. Reports from reliable sources like [Motor Trend] and [The Drive] suggest that Honda might reintroduce the Element as an electric SUV, further aligning with the industry’s shift toward sustainable vehicles.
